Get to know Ambassador Maddie Blair

Hi, I'm Maddie!! I am currently a sophomore at Lincoln Lutheran High School in Lincoln Ne. I am a member of the Kansas High School Rodeo Association for barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying. I also enjoy many of the jackpot series available across Nebraska. I typically spend most of my time at rodeos or with my horses, Wally and Miss Kenny. In my spare time, I work at Bar Star Ranch as an assistant in riding horses, lessons, clinics and youth rodeos. And if I'm not with horses, which is pretty rare, I like to spend my time around my amazing friends.

How you would you describe your personality? I personally would describe myself as a fun, easy going, kind person who enjoys learning more about others, great sportsmanship and loves encouraging everyone, super hard working and divine for the passion I have. I have a soft heart when it comes to equines and teaching others.

What are three words someone else would use to describe you?

sweet, hard working, positive

Are you a member of any clubs, groups, or associations?

I am a member of the KHSRA, Mighty Lopers 4-H, Twisted Turn and Burn, NBHA-09, Nebraska 4D

What sports or activities you participate in? At what level?

I high school rodeo for the state of Kansas, I feel as though I am a tough competitor there, usually placing top 10 most of my runs.

What are your favorite activities to do outside of the arena or work?

I don't do a whole lot outside of the arena or work, but some things I do enjoy would be working out, or hanging out with my friends. I really enjoy getting to be around other people that I wouldn't necessarily see all the time and getting away from stressful environments to relax with them.

What is something you are proud of yourself for?

I am proud of myself for being myself and working hard. There are not many kids like me (horse girl) at my school but I don't let it get to me and I'm still me. I am proud of myself for all the hard work and dedication I put into everything I do. I spend most of my days riding whether it be my horses or at my job riding those horses. I put a lot of time and effort into improving my skills and my horses each day.

What are three things you cannot live without? Why?

My horses, they are a big part of my life and I enjoy spending my time with them as much of my time with them.
My family, my family has always been my biggest supporters even though not coming from a rodeo/horse background.
Cinnamon rolls and Dr Pepper; it's two-in-one but they both are too good to go without
